Shipped my wife’s car from GA to IL. Shopped around different brokers and was quoted upwards of $1400. Then CarHaulers 24/7 or Landing Pad reached out to me and gave me a relatively inexpensive quote. I was skeptical at first due to how cheap it was compared to the others. With some research, my mind was put at ease due to the company’s positive reviews. My wife’s car was delivered with the utmost care to Illinois 24hrs later. Thank you CarHaulers 24/7!

Landing Pad LLC (Carhauler247) provided awesome service. I had never shipped a car before and did not know what to expect. Being able to set your own price is so much less stressful than the bait and switch tactics I experienced with other brokers. Communication was easy and any questions were quickly answered via phone and text. The pictures provided at pickup and gps tracking kept me at ease with this unfamiliar process. My car was delivered safely by a reputable carrier that had a long history of positive reviews. I couldn’t be happier with the decision to trust landing pad LLC with my shipment.

I normally don’t review but I felt compelled to because everything went so smoothly from start to finish. Vlad was exceptionally professional in communicating with me every step of the way when I had questions. Car was transported in an enclosed trailer from MI to CA. I was more worried than usual as my new car was a bit pricier. The pickup included tons of pictures which put me at ease and also the carrier they used was very communicative as well, and even included GPS tracking data as they got close. I wouldn't hesitate to use CarHauler247 again in the future. The definitely put a good name to the car transport industry.

Driver's License and Car Registration When Moving Out of Florida

When relocating from Florida to another state, there are important steps to take regarding your car registration and driver's license. This guide outlines the key processes to ensure a smooth transition.

1. Car Registration

A. Registering Your Vehicle in Your New State
  • Timeframe: Most states require vehicle registration within 30 to 90 days of establishing residency.
  • Requirements: To register your vehicle, you'll generally need:
    • Your Florida vehicle registration or title.
    • Proof of ownership, such as a title or lease agreement.
    • Proof of auto insurance meeting your new state's requirements.
    • Payment for registration fees and any applicable taxes.
B. Florida License Plates
  • You must replace your Florida license plates with plates issued by your new state after registering your vehicle there.
  • Surrendering Plates: Florida requires you to return your license plates if you are moving out of state and canceling your vehicle registration. You can return them by mail or in person to a local Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) office.
C. Emissions and Inspections

While Florida does not require emissions testing, your new state may have specific inspection or emissions requirements. Check with the DMV in your destination state for details.

2. Driver's License

A. Surrendering Your Florida Driver's License
  • When applying for a driver's license in your new state, you will need to surrender your Florida driver's license.
  • Your Florida license will be invalidated once your new state issues a replacement license.
B. Timeframe to Apply for a New License

Most states require you to obtain a driver's license within 30 to 60 days of establishing residency.

C. Documents Required for a New License
  • Proof of identity (e.g., passport, birth certificate).
  • Social Security number or Social Security card.
  • Proof of residency in your new state (e.g., utility bill, lease agreement).
  • Your current Florida driver's license.

3. Additional Considerations

A. Canceling Florida Vehicle Registration

To avoid potential tax bills or fees, notify FLHSMV to cancel your Florida vehicle registration and return your license plates.

B. Auto Insurance Updates

Switch to an auto insurance policy that complies with your new state's requirements. Once your new policy is active, cancel your Florida policy.

C. Taxes and Fees

Some states charge vehicle property taxes or additional registration fees that differ from Florida. Be sure to research the costs in your new state to avoid surprises.

Summary

When moving out of Florida, you'll need to register your vehicle and obtain a driver's license in your new state. Remember to surrender your Florida license plates, update your auto insurance, and cancel your Florida vehicle registration with FLHSMV. Follow your new state's requirements to ensure a smooth transition and compliance with local laws.

Facts About Miami

  • The Chicken Invasion: Random chickens roam freely around certain Miami neighborhoods like they own the place. No one knows where they came from, but they refuse to leave.
  • The Miami Time Zone: "I'm on my way" means the person hasn't even left yet. Being late is just part of the culture here.
  • Language Roulette: English? Spanish? Spanglish? In Miami, you might start a conversation in one language and end it in another without realizing it.
  • Traffic Laws? What Traffic Laws? Miami drivers treat turn signals as decorative lights and speed limits as a loose suggestion. If you can drive here, you can drive anywhere!
  • Party Capital: Miami is the only city where you can go for brunch, stay for happy hour, and somehow find yourself at a nightclub at 3 AM - on a Tuesday.
  • Flip-Flops for Every Occasion: In Miami, flip-flops are considered acceptable footwear for everything - weddings, business meetings, and even fancy restaurants.
  • Winter Doesn't Exist: The closest thing Miami has to winter is when temperatures drop below 70℉, and locals suddenly break out their jackets and scarves.
  • Home of the Only Ever "Snowfall" in Florida: Miami saw snow once - back in 1977. People are still talking about it like it was the Ice Age.
  • World Record for Suntan Lotion Sales: Okay, maybe not officially, but considering Miami's year-round sun, locals probably keep sunscreen companies in business.
  • Humidity vs. Hair: Miami's humidity is undefeated. No matter how much effort you put into styling, your hair will either frizz up or stick to your forehead within minutes.

Miami is a city full of sunshine, culture, and quirks that make it one of the most unique places in the world. Whether you're dodging crazy drivers, sweating in December, or dancing until sunrise, something is always up in the 305!

Car Registration and Driver's License When Moving to Texas

If you are moving to Texas, you will need to register your vehicle and get a Texas driver's license soon after you arrive. Below are the steps to follow.

Shipping car to Texas

1. Car Registration

A. Registering Your Vehicle
  • Timeframe: New residents must register their vehicle in Texas within 30 days of moving to the state.
  • Requirements: At your county tax assessor-collector's office you will typically need:
    • Your out-of-state title (or the lienholder's information if the car is financed).
    • A completed Application for Texas Title and/or Registration (Form 130-U).
    • Proof of Texas auto insurance.
    • A passed vehicle inspection, if required for your vehicle and county.
    • Payment for title, registration and new-resident fees.
  • Emissions Testing: Emissions testing applies in the larger metro counties, including the Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and El Paso areas. Check the Texas DMV for the current inspection rules for your county.
B. License Plate and Title Transfer
  • Texas issues new license plates when you register your vehicle at the county office.
  • Your title is transferred to a Texas title. If your car is financed, the county works with your lienholder.

2. Driver's License

A. Applying for a Texas Driver's License
  • Timeframe: You must get a Texas driver's license within 90 days of moving to the state.
  • Where: Driver's licenses are issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), not the county office - many DPS offices take appointments.
  • Required Documents: Typically proof of identity, Social Security number, Texas residency, U.S. citizenship or lawful presence, and your vehicle's Texas registration and insurance.
  • Testing: Most adults with a valid out-of-state license don't need to retake the driving test.

3. Additional Considerations

A. Order Matters

Register your vehicle first - DPS asks for proof of Texas vehicle registration when you apply for your driver's license.

B. Vehicle Insurance

Update your auto insurance to a Texas policy that meets the state's minimum liability coverage before you register.

Summary

Moving to Texas: register your car at the county office within 30 days, then get your Texas driver's license at DPS within 90 days. Check whether your county requires an emissions test before registration.

Shipping a car to or from Austin, TX

Austin keeps growing, and a lot of people arrive with a car on a truck behind them - new hires at the tech campuses up north, UT students every August, families moving from California. Carriers come through the city all the time on I-35 and US-290, so finding a truck is rarely the hard part.

Getting the truck to your door can be. A full car carrier is about 75 feet long, and a lot of Austin apartment complexes, West Campus streets and newer subdivisions with tight cul-de-sacs simply can’t fit one. In that case the driver will call ahead and ask to meet nearby - a grocery store or big-box parking lot off a main road works well and only takes a few minutes.

Try to avoid scheduling pickup during rush hour on I-35 if you can; drivers plan around it too. And in the summer, when afternoons stay above 100°F for weeks, leave your car with a sunshade in and no loose electronics on the dash.
