I normally don’t review but I felt compelled to because everything went so smoothly from start to finish. Vlad was exceptionally professional in communicating with me every step of the way when I had questions. Car was transported in an enclosed trailer from MI to CA. I was more worried than usual as my new car was a bit pricier. The pickup included tons of pictures which put me at ease and also the carrier they used was very communicative as well, and even included GPS tracking data as they got close. I wouldn't hesitate to use CarHauler247 again in the future. The definitely put a good name to the car transport industry.

Landing Pad LLC (Carhauler247) provided awesome service. I had never shipped a car before and did not know what to expect. Being able to set your own price is so much less stressful than the bait and switch tactics I experienced with other brokers. Communication was easy and any questions were quickly answered via phone and text. The pictures provided at pickup and gps tracking kept me at ease with this unfamiliar process. My car was delivered safely by a reputable carrier that had a long history of positive reviews. I couldn’t be happier with the decision to trust landing pad LLC with my shipment.

It was my first time shipping my car across states, so I naturally had a lot of questions and felt a bit uneasy about the process. Vlad made everything as seamless and smooth as possible. He stayed on top of communication the entire time and was always genuine and transparent about the service and pricing. I really appreciated how promptly he kept both me and the carrier updated. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a reliable car shipping service, and I would definitely use their service again. Thank you again, Vlad!

Shipping my Car from California

  • Notify the California DMV

    • Complete a Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability (NRL) online or via mail. This ensures you are no longer held liable for the vehicle's registration fees or any incidents involving the car after you leave California.
    • The NRL form can be completed on the California DMV website.
  • Register Your Vehicle in the New State

Once you move, you’ll need to register your vehicle in your new state and obtain new license plates. The exact process and timeline vary by state, but most require you to complete registration within 30-90 days of establishing residency.

  • Keep or Dispose of Your California Plates

    • If the new state requires you to surrender your old plates when registering your vehicle, you can hand them over at the new state's DMV.
    • If not, you can keep your California plates as a souvenir.

About San Jose

  • Unicorn Traffic Problems: The tech boom brought unicorn startups-and enough traffic to make your morning commute feel like you're starring in your own personal slow-motion disaster movie.
  • High-Tech Traffic Lights: San Jose experimented with "smart" traffic lights that are supposed to reduce traffic jams. Let's just say the lights are smart, but the drivers? That's debatable!
  • Tech Capital, Not Great Wi-Fi: Despite being the heart of Silicon Valley, San Jose's public Wi-Fi isn't exactly what you'd expect from the tech capital of the world.
  • First High-Rise Debate: Residents have argued over building tall skyscrapers for years, fearing they might block the view of planes landing at the airport - or the mountains in the distance. Priorities!
  • It's Always "Chill": San Jose has an average of 300 sunny days a year, but locals still complain when it drops below 60℉-it's their version of "freezing."
  • World's Largest Monopoly Board: San Jose has a massive, playable Monopoly board in Guadalupe River Park. You can actually rent oversized dice and hats to play the game. No pressure if you land on Boardwalk!
  • It's the Biggest Small City: San Jose is the 10th-largest city in the U.S., but somehow still feels like a collection of neighborhoods with small-town vibes.
  • Garlic Rules Nearby: Just down the road in Gilroy, the "Garlic Capital of the World", San Jose residents can smell the Garlic Festival from miles away. It's their version of aromatherapy!

San Jose is a quirky, sunny, tech-filled city that embraces its unique charm and eccentricities. If you're in town, there's always something to laugh about!

  • Timeframe: You must register your vehicle within 30 days of establishing residency in Florida.

    • Proof of Florida insurance
    • Proof of identity (e.g., passport, or birth certificate)

    • Completed application form (available at FLHSMV)
    • Payment for registration fees

  • Fees: Registration fees vary based on the type of vehicle, weight, and other factors. Additional fees may apply for title transfers.
  • Emissions Requirements: Florida does not have a state-wide emissions inspection program. However, some counties may have their own requirements, especially for vehicles over 25 years old.

Driver's License in Florida

If you're a new Florida resident, you are required to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of establishing residency. The process is as follows:

  • Timeframe: You must get your Florida driver's license within 30 days of moving to Florida or sooner if your out-of-state license is about to expire.
  • Required Documents: To apply for a Florida driver's license, you will need:
    • Proof of identity (e.g., passport, birth certificate)

    • Proof of Florida residency (e.g., utility bill, lease agreement)
    • Your out-of-state driver's license
    • Proof of legal presence in the U.S. (e.g., valid visa, permanent resident card)
  • Where to Apply: Visit your local Florida Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office to apply. Some offices may require appointments, so be sure to check ahead.
  • Fees: The cost for a driver's license varies, but the standard fee for a new license is around $48 for a non-commercial license.
  • Tests: If your out-of-state license is valid and you have a clean driving record, you may not need to take a driving test. However, a vision test and written knowledge test may be required.

Facts About Miami

  • The Chicken Invasion: Random chickens roam freely around certain Miami neighborhoods like they own the place. No one knows where they came from, but they refuse to leave.
  • The Miami Time Zone: "I'm on my way" means the person hasn't even left yet. Being late is just part of the culture here.
  • Language Roulette: English? Spanish? Spanglish? In Miami, you might start a conversation in one language and end it in another without realizing it.
  • Traffic Laws? What Traffic Laws? Miami drivers treat turn signals as decorative lights and speed limits as a loose suggestion. If you can drive here, you can drive anywhere!
  • Party Capital: Miami is the only city where you can go for brunch, stay for happy hour, and somehow find yourself at a nightclub at 3 AM - on a Tuesday.
  • Flip-Flops for Every Occasion: In Miami, flip-flops are considered acceptable footwear for everything - weddings, business meetings, and even fancy restaurants.
  • Winter Doesn't Exist: The closest thing Miami has to winter is when temperatures drop below 70℉, and locals suddenly break out their jackets and scarves.
  • Home of the Only Ever "Snowfall" in Florida: Miami saw snow once - back in 1977. People are still talking about it like it was the Ice Age.
  • World Record for Suntan Lotion Sales: Okay, maybe not officially, but considering Miami's year-round sun, locals probably keep sunscreen companies in business.
  • Humidity vs. Hair: Miami's humidity is undefeated. No matter how much effort you put into styling, your hair will either frizz up or stick to your forehead within minutes.

Miami is a city full of sunshine, culture, and quirks that make it one of the most unique places in the world. Whether you're dodging crazy drivers, sweating in December, or dancing until sunrise, something is always up in the 305!

Insurance at a glance

Auto transport carriers are typically have cargo insurance $250,000+ per incident. If multiple vehicles are damaged in a single incident, this coverage is shared among all affected vehicles (a full truck can carry up to 9 cars).

COI (Certificate of Insurance) will be available on web site when truck is assigned - look for cargo coverage on the policy. Coverage order:
1. Carrier's cargo insurance - Primary coverage during transport
2. Your auto insurance - Secondary coverage if you have Comprehensive or Collision

Does my insurance cover my car during transport?
Check your auto policy for Comprehensive and Collision coverage. Many policies DO cover vehicles during professional transport, but some exclude it. If your policy covers it and you file a claim, your insurance company can pursue the carrier's insurance through subrogation (they pay you first, then recover costs from the carrier).

Important: Contact your insurance agent to verify whether your policy covers vehicles during commercial transport before shipping.

Do I need Insurance?

You don't need your car insurance to have your car transported.
But without physical damage/subrogation you will have to collect from carrier's insurance yourself and it's a pain.
With physical/subrogation your insurance company will make it much easier for you because they will collect from Primary Payer (carrier's insurance) first, then if it's exhausted come as Secondary Payer if needed.
