I normally don’t review but I felt compelled to because everything went so smoothly from start to finish. Vlad was exceptionally professional in communicating with me every step of the way when I had questions. Car was transported in an enclosed trailer from MI to CA. I was more worried than usual as my new car was a bit pricier. The pickup included tons of pictures which put me at ease and also the carrier they used was very communicative as well, and even included GPS tracking data as they got close. I wouldn't hesitate to use CarHauler247 again in the future. The definitely put a good name to the car transport industry.

This was my second time using Landing Pad / Car Hauler 247, and I’m very happy with their service. They helped transport my purchased car from an auction in Montclair, CA to Mountain View, CA. I received an immediate/instant quote at a good price, and their communication over email and phone was excellent. They answered all my questions and accommodated special pickup requests. I definitely recommend their service!

After shopping around, speaking with multiple brokers and combing Reddit for weeks, Landing Pad/Car Hauler 247 is who I felt the most confident with to work with shipping two personal use vehicles from VA to TX. I’d never had to navigate shipping cars before. The Landing Pad website was super informative. They were available for questions throughout the process and provided valuable expertise (by phone call and text). They also had the absolute best pricing and got me the best value. If I ever need to ship vehicles again, I’d go with Landing Pad instantly. Thank you for making a challenging process seamless!!

Car Registration and Driver's License When Moving Out of Georgia

If you're relocating from Georgia, it is important to handle your car registration and driver's license appropriately to comply with state and federal requirements. This guide provides a summary of the necessary steps.

1. Car Registration

A. Registering Your Vehicle in the New State
  • Timeframe: Most states require you to register your vehicle within 30 to 90 days of establishing residency.
  • Requirements: To register your car in your new state, you will typically need:
    • Your current Georgia vehicle registration or title.
    • Proof of ownership (e.g., title or lease agreement).
    • Proof of auto insurance valid in your new state.
    • Payment for applicable fees and taxes.
B. Georgia License Plates
  • Plate Surrender: Georgia does not typically require you to return your license plates. You may keep or dispose of them according to the new state's rules.
  • If you are unsure, contact the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) or Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) for clarification.

2. Driver's License

A. Surrendering Your Georgia Driver's License
  • When you apply for a driver's license in your new state, you will need to surrender your Georgia driver's license.
  • Your Georgia license will be invalidated upon receiving your new license.
B. Timeframe to Apply for a New License

Most states require you to obtain a driver's license within 30 to 60 days of establishing residency.

C. Documents Required for a New License
  • Proof of identity (e.g., passport, birth certificate).
  • Social Security number or Social Security card.
  • Proof of residency in the new state (e.g., utility bill, lease agreement).
  • Your current Georgia driver's license.

3. Additional Considerations

A. Auto Insurance Updates

Ensure your auto insurance complies with the requirements of your new state. Once the new policy is active, you can cancel your Georgia insurance policy.

B. Refund for Unused Registration

Georgia does not typically offer refunds for unused registration. Contact the Georgia MVD for more information if needed.

C. Taxes and Fees

Be prepared to pay property taxes, registration fees, and other charges that may differ from Georgia's rates in your new state.

D. Emissions and Safety Inspections

Some states have specific emissions or safety inspection requirements. Check the standards before registering your vehicle in the new state.

Summary

When moving out of Georgia, make sure to register your vehicle and obtain a new driver's license in your new state. Handle your Georgia plates, registration, and insurance appropriately to comply with regulations and avoid penalties.

About Dallas

  • Frozen Margarita Headquarters: Dallas is home to the invention of the frozen margarita machine. Priorities, people!
  • Speed Limit? Optional! The speed limit on Dallas highways is more of a "suggestion." If you're going the speed limit, you're probably getting passed by a grandma in a pickup truck.
  • Bigger is Always Better: Everything really is bigger in Texas, and Dallas takes it seriously. The city once built a giant cowboy hat so large it needed its own ZIP code (okay, not really - but close!).
  • Traffic Time Warp: Dallas drivers will tell you that every destination is "20 minutes away." This is a lie. Traffic can turn a 10-minute drive into an hour-long saga.
  • Weather Roulette: Dallas weather has a mind of its own. You can leave home in a sweater and need flip-flops by lunchtime—or vice versa.
  • State Fair of Texas Mascot: "Big Tex", the 55-foot-tall talking cowboy at the State Fair, greets visitors with a deep "Howdy, folks!" and is basically the city's unofficial mayor.
  • JFK Conspiracy Capital: The grassy knoll in Dealey Plaza is the home of endless JFK conspiracy theories. If you talk to the right people, you'll hear about at least five different "real" stories.
  • Parking Spot Safari: Finding parking in downtown Dallas can feel like an extreme sport. By the time you find a spot, you might forget where you were going.
  • Steakhouse Heaven: Dallas has so many steakhouses that even the cows are nervous. If you leave without eating a steak, were you even here?
  • Football is a Religion: In Dallas, "Sunday service" might mean church, but it's just as likely to mean watching the Cowboys play - and arguing about whether it's finally "their year."

Dallas is a city of big flavors, big personalities, and even bigger fun. Whether you're dodging traffic, eating your weight in BBQ, or debating conspiracy theories, there's always something to laugh about in Big D!
